Nice weekend, overall. Wish it was longer, of course, but I'll take what I can. I had plenty of friend-time, which is a rare commodity.
On Friday, we went to see the Skiffle play and I got to chat with Maisy's sons' adopter. We're in-laws of sorts. Michelle told me that Maisy was dropped off at the City Mission when she was pregnant and gave birth to three kittens there. That's so sad it kills me! I'm so happy that Maisy and all three boys have found good homes. She's a doll of a cat.
On Saturday, I had breakfast at Bertha's with Carima, which was also much-needed. I loved hearing her perspective of the Egyptian turbulence; it's one thing to hear shrill pundits, but it's another to hear about it from the people that live there. Carima's been in touch with her relatives and told me what they've told her. Aside form that, it was just damn good to see Carima. After, I thought I had a massage, but I screwed up my weeks so I went to The Clothes Mentor instead and found an adorable skirt from J. Crew. (<--- weird because I seem to have lost weight and I don't know how... I dropped a full dress size since I last went shopping!) Later, I roasted veggies and made a quiche and then Paul and I watched "Celebrity Ghost Stories" which freaked me the fuck out. Ugh.
Today, I hit the gym and then made my way to Paula's for brunch with her and Julia (and Olive!). Olive's talking up a storm now and it was hilarious to listen to a 2 year old's take on life. I also got to rough-house with Blue, with which we were both quite pleased. Jules indulged Olive by reading her many books as I made snarky quips.
So, the weekend's over. Way too fast.
